REMISZ Consulting Engineers Ltd. was retained by AECON to perform construction supervision and engineering design during demolition and reconstruction of a new concrete girder bridge for the City of Ottawa.
Before bridge demolition over the river, REMISZ identified the layouts of the prestressing strands and coordinated exploratory openings and concrete testing. REMISZ developed demolition procedures and attended the site as a structural consultant during the demolition activities and the rebuilding of the bridge with new concrete box girders.
Concrete girders were made into a rigid frame system, longitudinally and then vertically prestressed into the abutments.
