Leadership & Management

Wojciech REMISZ, P.Eng., M.Sc., FCSCE – Founder and principal of the firm, PEO Designated Consulting Engineer since 1992, carrying over 40 years of extensive work experience. Mr. REMISZ has successfully managed and coordinated numerous projects of all sizes throughout Canada and abroad. He is the recipient of the 1998 Innovation Award and 2014 CEO Willis Chipman Award.

 

Greg REMISZ, B.Eng. – Vice President, Finance & Business Development, has been involved with the firm since its inception, and joined on a full time basis in 2013. Has many years of experience in customer service, account management, and product line management from the telecommunications industry. Mr. Greg REMISZ is responsible for legal, business, finance, and customer relationship aspects of the company.

 

Engineering & Technical

Magdy Guirguis, P.Eng. – is a Structural Engineer with over 35 years of experience in structural design, inspection, rehabilitation, construction review, and quality assurance of complex structures. His expertise encompasses bridge structures, residential, industrial, and commercial buildings, with extensive experience in project coordination, technical leadership, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Magdy supports engineering teams through quality control and quality assurance reviews, design coordination, technical assessments, and guidance throughout project delivery.

He has extensive experience in the rehabilitation of concrete, steel, and timber structures, including condition assessments, site inspections, construction support, contractor coordination, and ensuring compliance with project specifications, applicable standards, and engineering requirements.

 

Gustavo Berni, P.Eng. – is a Structural Engineer with over 18 years of experience in the structural design and analysis of buildings, including reinforced concrete structures, long-span steel systems, laminated timber, and mixed structural solutions. He has worked in several Latin American countries, contributing to the design, analysis, and construction management of projects of varying scale and complexity. His portfolio includes industrial facilities, office buildings, sports complexes, cathedrals, apartment buildings, and single-family homes.

He is a PhD candidate in Civil Engineering at the University of Buenos Aires, specializing in the mechanical behavior of composite wood–steel beams, with emphasis on elastoplastic behavior and advanced elastic analysis methods.

He also works as a construction history researcher, focusing on medieval building techniques, architectural history, and the conservation and reconstruction of architectural heritage.

 

Elham Zomorodi, P.Eng. – is a Structural Engineer with over 12 years of experience in the analysis and design of reinforced concrete, steel, and timber structures. She has contributed to a diverse range of residential, commercial, institutional, and healthcare projects across the Middle East and Canada, including residential developments, hospitals, retaining walls, foundation systems, and building renovations.

Her expertise includes structural analysis and design, structural inspections, rehabilitation and repair of existing structures, and Ontario Building Code compliance reviews. Her experience includes the design of Part 4 and Part 9 buildings, structural evaluations, and the preparation of permit-ready structural drawings and construction documents for new construction and building alterations.

Elham holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and a Master of Science degree in Earthquake Engineering. She has completed the Ontario Building Code Program and is proficient in structural analysis and design software, including ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, AutoCAD, and Sizer.

 

Mohamed Badr, M.Sc. – is a Structural Designer with several years of experience in the analysis and design of a wide range of structures across the MENA region and North America, including steel, concrete, and timber buildings. He also has expertise in the design of shoring systems and temporary bracing for both infrastructure and superstructure projects.

He is proficient in several structural engineering software packages, including SAP2000, ETABS, ABAQUS, OpenSees, AutoCAD, and Mathcad, and is experienced in the preparation of detailed design calculations, engineering documentation and technical proposals.

Mohamed holds a Master ’s degree in Structural Engineering from Western University and is currently pursuing his Doctoral degree in Structural Engineering at Carleton University. He is a passionate researcher with strong analytical skills and a deep commitment to both academic advancement and practical engineering applications.
