REMISZ Consulting Engineers Ltd. was retained by R.W. Tomlinson Ltd. to carry out the design of all temporary structural support systems used to construct the new superstructures at the north side of the existing bridge after the existing superstructure was demolished and a new bridge was slid in place of the old superstructure.
Header beams on braced frames were supported on steel H-piles driven to bedrock. An additional header beam was placed on top of each frame, sitting on bolts, that would allow the header beam to be rotated west-east, as well as south-north to accommodate longitudinal and transverse slopes. On top of these header beams, REMISZ designed longitudinal triple W beams located side by side, which in turn support skid tracks provided by Mammoet.
